I needed to become a larger figure for hockey in my late teens, it was my first gym experience and Ive been on and off since.
If you have transformed yourself what do you attribute to arriving at your starting point:
Well as you will see in some transformation pics I will add, I was depressed(loss of job) injured from golf(knee) and sat on the couch eating like crap and never lifting, finally i looked in the mirror, took a nice hard strong look and had to snap out of it, next day i was back in the gym.
Tell us a little about your training philosophy:
Volume blocks and strength blocks, strength depending on time of year and injury, i spend the majority of the winter months getting stronger, and need to switch things up to a more, volume oriented workouts during spring summer and prep season. Giant sets I have found to do me extremley well, especially in my back development.
Tell us a little bit about your diet philosophy:
I eat clean now year round, cutting for photo shoots and later this year for contest prep, I typically keep a macro count and how I am feeling i never starve myself and i never over eat, high protein, moderate carb, low fat is the typical norm.
Please tell us about your competitive history and placings (if applicable):
I plan to compete in my first show in the fall of 2015
Tell us about some of your short and long term goals:
To Become a IFBB pro, but lets win a regional show first. Honestly I would love to leave and or have a mark in the industry in many ways, time will tell and i will do my very best to get there.
Who do you look to for motivation and why?
I look at myself, end of the day, you are accountable for all your own actions.
What are some of the most difficult obstacles that you have had to overcome?
Depression, was terrible, needing to find a way to love myself again was the key, I had to become selfish to a point where what was best for me is what mattered, now I am very happy and share my love to the best of my abilities.
Tell us some of your pet peeves surrounding healthy life and the gym:
When people assume you never eat enough, or how diets are so hard to follow, the pure laziness of the avg person.
What is the number one piece of advice that you would give someone that looks to you for inspiration?
Don’t stop ever, work and love everyday like its your last cause it very well could be.
