I began training after I had taken a fitness class in high school and have never looked back since.
If you have transformed yourself what do you attribute to arriving at your starting point:
Being consistent is definitely a key for anyone who wants to make progress. Regardless if you aren’t feeling up to it that day or whatever it maybe just get up and do whatever is needed to put you closer to your goals. If you stay consistent the results will always come.
Tell us a little about your training philosophy:
I am currently doing an Upper/Lower Power day followed by 3 days of typical hypertrophy workouts chest/shoulders/tries, Legs, and Back/bis/abs.
Tell us a little bit about your diet philosophy:
I have tried a “clean” eating approach for quite sometime and I am the type of person who has no problem eating the same thing everyday. However I realized it doesn’t matter how “clean”you are eating if you are in an excessive surplus you are going to get fat no matter what. The past three months I have been practicing flexible dieting with my coach James Perez and it has been a breeze so far .. makes it easy to go out with friends and deal with whatever life throws at us while still keeping my diet on track. I should say though that 90% of the time I am still eating wholefoods.
Tell us about some of your short and long term goals:
The plan is to compete this fall either at the Fouad Abiad Natural Classic in Windsor or the KW Octoberfest Natural in Kitchener.
Tell us some of your pet peeves surrounding healthy life and the gym:
I am sure everyone can relate whether it be at work, a family gathering, or just out with friends in general. Constant questions as to why you eat what you do or why you don’t wanna go out drinking etc etc.
What is the number one piece of advice that you would give someone that looks to you for inspiration?
Nutrition is in my mind the biggest part of reaching your fitness goals. You can have the perfect training regimen, doing endless amounts of cardio but if you have no idea how many calories you are putting in your body you will just be spinning your wheels. Thanks Andrew!!
