What motivated you to want to train others?
As someone who battled with my own weight for years until I learned to weight train and educated myself on nutrition, I wanted to help others who were on a similar path. I wanted to help others see that they CAN have the physique they want.
What level of client do you train (weight loss/transformation, competitive):
At our gym we train everyone from beginners to elite athletes. We’ve had transformations of 100+lbs lost as well as athletes who place top 5. We are versatile and able to help our clients with whatever their goals are
Tell us a little about your training philosophy:
I fully believe in balance. A balance between fitness and life. I believe in lifting heavy and pushing your limits but also enjoying life and incorporating activities that are already an important part of a client’s life.
Tell us a little bit about your diet philosophy:
When it comes to diet, balance is even more important. A show is a huge event but it’s not the whole world. Even our competition prep clients still get to enjoy life. This is why we firmly believe in flexible dieting and allowing your prep to be enjoyable without being restricting. Cutting out and restricting often leads to binging and other unhealthy behaviour which we strongly discourage
How many years have you trained others?
How do you set goals with your clients?
We set a main goal and break down the time period in between to set smaller goals. it gives us milestones to work toward.
How do you help keep your clients motivated?
We do weekly accountability check ins which really help keep clients pushing and on track daily.
What are some of the most difficult obstacles with clients?
The initial breakdown is definitely the hardest. Seeing someone at their lowest before they commit to helping themselves is by far the worst and most heartbreaking part of our job.
How do you view supplementation with clients given the volume of supplements available?
We try to do as much with food and fitness as possible but we are affiliated with Body systems Nutrition who helps with any supplementation that we require.
