What Motivated You To Begin Training?
I was training for a marathon and ended up injuring my achilles which sidelined me from running. I was getting very depressed not being able to run until a friend introduced me to weight lifting. I fell completely in love with it and have never looked back!
Tell us a little about your training philosophy:
I believe in total focus when training….I don’t chat with anyone between sets or text or engage in any distractions. I concentrate on the muscle I am working and feeling the contraction. I try to push myself every workout to achieve a PB either with weight or reps.
Tell us a little bit about your diet philosophy:
I am a vegan, so I follow a plant based lifestyle. Contrary to popular belief I do not have difficulty getting enough protein nor is my diet boring. I eat a wide variety of delicious foods and have been successful in building up my muscle base naturally.
Please tell us about your competitive history and placings (if applicable):
To date I have competed in 3 OPA shows; 2014 – GNC Live Well Natural Timmins Championships – 5th Place Bikini Medium and 3rd Place Bikini Masters, 2015 – Sudbury Classic Championship – 2nd Place Bikini Masters Tall, 2015 – Oktoberfest Natural Classic – 3rd Place Bikini Masters
How Many Years have You Competed?
Tell us about some of your short and long term goals:
I love competing and recently joined Team Bunny; I am thrilled to began working with such an amazing, dedicated athlete as Jill Bunny. Together we will be building a more competitive package to bring to the Provincial Stage.
Who do you look to for motivation and why?
Jill Bunny……she has overcome so many obstacles and has transformed her body and her life. She is truly inspirational.
What is the number one piece of advice that you would give someone that looks to you for inspiration?
Don’t give up…and don’t be intimidated at the gym.
