Facing the end of a 20 year marriage,and needing a make changes. I found myself at the gym. It has been my therapy, my happy place.
Tell us a little about your training philosophy:
Complete every set. Make goals for each training day, for example I’ll tell myself today no less than 30 minutes of cardio. Try and mix it up, try different routines. Have a Rambo attitude..focus. Don’t get cold!
Tell us a little bit about your diet philosophy:
Never miss meals. Take a day to meal prep. Drink water, Drink water. Supplement wisely. Eat, rest repeat. Make the healthiest foods choices you can. And be patient with the process. Never give up.
Tell us about some of your short and long term goals:
Continue to condition myself. Eye on my first competition in 2016. Would like to encourage other women who have experienced some of my struggles towards making better choices.
Who do you look to for motivation and why?
Love the women in my gym. Seeing hard they work and the results makes me push myself.
What are some of the most difficult obstacles that you have had to overcome?
My work schedule. Long hours.I’m a nurse. The battle is always in the mind. Also having negative feedback from others.
Tell us some of your pet peeves surrounding healthy life and the gym:
The level of understanding from some people. They don’t understand. Will say things like you’re going to look like a man.really?!
What is the number one piece of advice that you would give someone that looks to you for inspiration?
Set goals that are realistic. Do it for the right reasons. Be patient with yourself and your body. And never give up!
